A Note From Dave: Sunday May 3rd

Hi everyone!
It was great to be back worshiping with my family this Sunday. We had a great time away at the National ACC Conference and then ministering at Twin Rivers Church in Brisbane over the weekend.

It’s encouraging to hear and see what God is doing in our Nation and beyond through our movement. It’s always powerful to be reminded that we are all part of something much bigger than ourselves.

Then, there is something really special about being home with your own family. So Alix and I were thrilled to be with our family this Sunday.

In Matthew 12 Jesus talks about who our spiritual family is and what the binding factor is:
Jesus asked, “Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?” 49 Then he pointed to his disciples and said, “Look, these are my mother and brothers. Anyone who does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother!” (Matthew 12:48-50 NLT)

The common or binding factor is connection to our Father.
I’m sure, like me, you can remember having some full-on arguments with your siblings as you were growing up. Mostly those interactions didn’t make us feel insecure in the family because our place was connected through our relationship with our parents. It is our relationship to our Father that gives us our place and security in the body of Christ. As we find security in Him we love, accept, encourage, care for and build up our brothers and sisters.

Jesus made the point:
Connection to their Heavenly Father gave them shared purpose and unshakable security that built a sense of family that would transcend any physical experience of family.
It is that understanding that makes us strong as a family at Energizer.

See you in Church as we worship together as Family.
