His gift of salvation needs to be accepted by so many and the Good News of hope, grace and forgiveness needs to be known by all. Church Together gives us a fantastic relevant way of expressing our faith and presenting the Gospel – so let’s be courageous and compelling as we invite our family and friends to share in this land mark event. Go on – why not get on the phone right now and start inviting those that are on your heart to invite. Let’s be bringers and live out a spacious life.  Youth United Pre Rally Rave: Kicking off at 2.30pm before the main event; with live DJ, Zorb Ball madness, hot food and special guest musician Barry Conrad performing so make sure you get there early and be part of the action!   Kids Together: The Kids Together team have a jam packed program planned for the children. Kids can still be registered and checked in on the day from 3:30pm so arrive early to get your kids settled.   Prayer: Join us as we pray for Church Together in the following areas:

  • Financial provision towards our event, as we desire to reach budget and be able to bless a worthy community organisation through the offering taken on the night.
  • People to find new relationship and hope in Jesus.
  • Good health for all teams and leaders as they prepare.

We are so proud of everyone who has contributed and those who will be volunteering over the weekend. We are in this together and we are believing for a great sense of unity among The Church of Southern Tasmania and for many people to find relationship with Jesus.  Looking forward to seeing you this Sunday morning at our Hobart 10am service and then again for an incredible Church Together event in the afternoon.  Blessings Ps Dave

Mothers Day

mothers day

Hi Church,

This Sunday at Energizer Church we have planned two very special Mother’s Day Services for our Hobart & Derwent Valley campuses. Our theme for the day is “YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE MY ONLY SUNSHINE”. So many of the women and mothers in our world model grace, love and kindness to us in a very real, tangible and consistent way and bring that little ray of sunshine that lights up our day! This Sunday we will do our best to help the women and mothers present feel honoured, cherished, loved and valued. This is a great day to bring your Mum to Church and then continue to make her day special.   Kids Church will be running their regular exciting program in the morning, which commences at 10am. There will be treats and gifts for all the girls as well as a special high tea, pampering & even a special selfie station to take some happy Mother’s Day snaps, so make sure you invite your mothers, sisters, daughters and friends to join us. 10am – Hobart (8 Petchey Street, Bellerive) 4pm – Derwent Valley (19 Circle Street, New Norfolk)   Of course, this service is not just for the girls. There will be inspiring worship and a message for us all, not to mention fantastic fellowship with our church family!   Can’t wait to see you in church on Sunday. Then, one more week after that is Church Together – what an exciting time for the churches of Southern Tasmania!

God Bless Dave & Alix

Heart & Soul: Who Cares?

image
Hi Church,

At Heart and Soul This Monday, 7:30pm at our Hobart Campus, we ask a real question: “Who Cares?”

Care is not something we just feel or even do from time to time. It is a core value and is entwined in our culture at Energizer.

Our Values state:
We value all people, everywhere, for everyone has a story. We warmly welcome and accept others regardless of age, background or culture. We value all people as created in the image of God. We see the potential in every person to be restored, made whole, developed in their area of gifting and live out their God-given purpose.

In summary; We care about People.

Culture is stronger than rules, legislation and ideals that might be imposed on us.
Culture could be: the total of the inherited ideas, beliefs, values, and knowledge, which constitute the shared bases of social action.

As a church our culture carries our values to a place of action and decision. We can have great vision and ideals, but it will be the culture we have as a church, that will subconsciously effect and determine how we are perceived, how accepted people feel, and whether we live in an environment where our ideals and values are actually felt and enacted.

Heart and Soul is a place where we get to work on and build a strong culture; a culture that will truly carry Jesus to our community, a culture where people encounter Jesus in a real, welcoming and life changing way.

I would love you to join as at Heart and Soul this Monday night, as together we go on a journey of strengthening our Culture of Care.

Because People Matter.

We are in for a great night!

Ps Dave

A Note From Dave: Sunday May 3rd

Hi everyone!
It was great to be back worshiping with my family this Sunday. We had a great time away at the National ACC Conference and then ministering at Twin Rivers Church in Brisbane over the weekend.

It’s encouraging to hear and see what God is doing in our Nation and beyond through our movement. It’s always powerful to be reminded that we are all part of something much bigger than ourselves.

Then, there is something really special about being home with your own family. So Alix and I were thrilled to be with our family this Sunday.

In Matthew 12 Jesus talks about who our spiritual family is and what the binding factor is:
Jesus asked, “Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?” 49 Then he pointed to his disciples and said, “Look, these are my mother and brothers. Anyone who does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother!” (Matthew 12:48-50 NLT)

The common or binding factor is connection to our Father.
I’m sure, like me, you can remember having some full-on arguments with your siblings as you were growing up. Mostly those interactions didn’t make us feel insecure in the family because our place was connected through our relationship with our parents. It is our relationship to our Father that gives us our place and security in the body of Christ. As we find security in Him we love, accept, encourage, care for and build up our brothers and sisters.

Jesus made the point:
Connection to their Heavenly Father gave them shared purpose and unshakable security that built a sense of family that would transcend any physical experience of family.
It is that understanding that makes us strong as a family at Energizer.

See you in Church as we worship together as Family.

Greetings From Brisbane!

Hi everyone,

Alix and I have had a very encouraging week at our ACC National Conference. The National Conference is like the family getting back together.

It just reminds me again how important it is to be part of something that is bigger than ourselves. We have all been adopted into a family, which has a cause and purpose that is so much larger than any of us as individuals.
Together we win, together we’re part of great things God is doing in our Nation, and together as a Church God is using us to influence and shape the culture of our city.

At the opening of the Conference, National President Ps Wayne encouraged us that we are all about people. We influence our City through people; we influence families, schools and work places through people.

Let’s continue to love, reach and value people the way we have been. This Sunday I know the Holy Spirit will move through your kindness and love.

Keep praying for salvation and let’s keep those pre-service prayer meetings strong. They really are making a difference, as we take authority over the atmosphere before our services.

Pray for us as we minister in Brisbane this Sunday.

Miss you all. See you soon!

Dave

Hello Church,
One of the great bible heroes would have to be King David, the shepherd boy whose daring heroics felled the Giant who was holding a whole country to ransom.

He rocketed to fame and popularity, only to live the next season of his life as a fugitive. He spent a season hiding and taking refuge in a cave at Adullam. Archaeologists believe that the Cave of Adullam was not too far from the place where David defeated Goliath, in the hills of Judah.

From National hero to National fugitive; life must have felt like it was in a downward spiral.

The fact that David was hiding in a cave meant that he must have been feeling fear, but his life certainly wasn’t controlled by that feeling. Adullam means refuge, but the cave wasn’t David’s ultimate refuge. God wanted to be David’s refuge in this time of discouragement. He wanted to lead him through a season of fear and discouragement so he would rule as King and fear would not rule him.

We all have those cave seasons. In that time, more than ever, God is our refuge and strength and ever-present help in times of need. As we press into Him in the cave experience, we will find ourselves ruling over our fears and living beyond containment.

As a team our role is to help move people another step from where they are to where God wants them to be. From the car park to kids church, we’re helping people take a step.

Fear has a way of holding people stationary. This Sunday I’m believing many people will take a step. Pray with me as we believe for fear to be broken and many people either to take that first step into relationship with Jesus or take another step towards their destiny in Jesus Christ.

See you in Church!

P.S. Pre-service prayer 9:30am Hobart and 3:30pm DV. Let’s keep making these powerful times that set the spiritual temperature for our service.

A Note From Dave: Sunday March 15th

Hi Church,

It was a huge encouragement to Alix and I as we heard great reports from Church last week while we were away. Well done!

There is a big difference between just going off and doing something because you want to or you hope it might work, and being sent. Being sent has some authority about it; whether it was as simple as being sent to your room or sent to the shop as a child. Whilst memories of those experiences may be connected with quite different emotions, we were acting on the authority of our parents.

Captain Cook, who discovered and mapped the eastern seaboard of Australia, was sent. He was commissioned by the “The Royal Society of London for Improving Natural Knowledge” and King George III, who financed a scientific expedition.

As you know, I recently decided to go and ride in one of Australia’s toughest bike riding events; no cover on my costs, I had to pay to suffer because I wasn’t sent or commissioned I just chose to go.

As he spoke, he showed them the wounds in his hands and his side.
They were filled with joy when they saw the Lord! 21 Again he said, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you.
then he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.
(John 20:20-22NLT)

Jesus was himself sent,
Everything he did was done with the authority of his Father.
Just as when Captain cook discovered the east-coast of Australia, he did it with the authority and the resource of King George III
We are sent by Jesus with his full authority, knowing its all paid for and resourced, because he died for us to pay for our short comings, and and our father owns the cattle on a thousand hills.
We can go with complete confidence because we don’t just go we have been sent!

See you in Church.
Ps. Dave

Sunday March 8th

Hi all,

Jesus spoke to His disciples about “doing it different”.

But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, 44 and whoever wants to be first among you must be the slave of everyone else. 45 For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
(Mark 10:43-45)

This came as a response to some of the boys trying to sure up a position of significance in the kingdom. Jesus showed them that significance is not found in the position or notoriety, but in being able to genuinely serve others.

Our significance is found in what Christ has done for us and in us and is out-worked in our service to others. In that place we find contentment and real purpose. Jesus never struggled to prove and show His equality with the Father because He knew He had it.

In Christ we have nothing to prove. That releases us into the joy of serving. Let’s continue to value and build a culture of serving and showing high value to others.

As I heard at the CT launch breakfast “It is good to meet together.”
It will be an amazing day in Church as we continue our month of vision with the ‘serve’ aspect of our strategy.

P.S. Pre-service prayer in Hobart was fantastic last week. Let’s keep it happening 9:30am in the room right hand side of stage.
